Newbee - Am I doing this construction correctly (by James Wells)
Hi There,
I'm new to this and have been playing around in Solvespace. I have a shape which I don't think is very hard to achieve, however I'm having issues with splitting and creating a solid object. Then there's the question on the DOF.
I'm currently using circles to achieve this but its the "arc" between the small circles and between the left and right side circles to the main that I'm having issues with. I have marked these in red on the screenshot.
What would be the best approach to tackle a sketch like this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
James

Solvespace sketches need to be an enclosed figure, without any touching outlines. That is a figure fully inside another figure is OK. but tangent circles in the same sketch are not. You can create a figure touching a figure of another sketch,. What you can do is sketch and extrude in stages to build up the model that you want. You can have multiple entities in an extrude, such as the pairs of circles of the same size.

James, I apologize for my confusion, but are you looking to create a solid object that has the outside perimeter (highlighted in red)? Or are you looking to create some other sort of shape? If you define the issue you're having a bit more I can give it a shot for you.
