Problem with creating hexagona pattern (by blueshoe)
I guess its a problem of creating just about any patterns.

What I am trying to do is to create an array of hexagonal 'hole' on the plane. First, I have created a few hexagons, and then moved on to copying and pasting to make the job easier. But, when I do paste, especially in larger numbers, I get an 'contour is self-intersecting' error. I tent to move the pasted pattern, but even if I try to move them by manually selecting the points and the lines, I can't really move them... How do I solve this?

And, is there any pattern generating techniques or tools? So far I could not find such function in Solvespace. For example, in Solidworks there is this 'Linear Pattern' (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGFC5hZg4w0). I would like to use such function so that I won't have to deal with manually drawing and constraining every repeating shapes...

Thanks.

Try step and repeat translating twice, with a point-on-point constraint in each group to determine the step distance and angle.

I took the liberty to make a example file following Jonathan's answer.
