Testers Needed (by Paul)
If you can build solvespace from source, I have two very important pull requests on github that need testing. The first is numer 1800 and allows named variables and fully parametric parts. Parts can be linked in an assembly and have their parameters changed at the assembly level on a per-instance basis. Read the PR for more and the comments for what needs extra testing.

The other one allows docking the text window inside the main window. So far this works on GTK4 (yeah that landed too) and with the Windows version on Wine. It still needs testing on Windows though. The PR is here:
https://github.com/solvespace/solvespace/pull/1804
Please provide feedback on the respective github PRs even if it works fine I need to know that for the Windows thing.

UPDATE: ALL PLATFORMS now have the dockable window change and I merged them to master. You can test by getting the latest build from:
https://github.com/solvespace/solvespace#via-automated-edge-builds
The complete set of tests requested is:
Basics
1. Start with no saved settings (a new user). The Property Browser should start docked on the right.
2. Use View → Property Browser Position to switch between Docked Left, Docked Right and Separate Window. Each time, check that the panel moves, its contents draw correctly, the 3D view resizes to fit, and the menu's radio mark matches.
3. Drag the divider between the panel and the 3D view. Neither side should go below its minimum width. Resize the main window: only the 3D view should change size, and the panel should keep its width.
4. Press Tab (View → Show Property Browser) while docked. The 3D view should take the full width, and pressing Tab again should bring the panel back on the same side at the same width.
Using the docked panel
5. Edit a value in the panel (click a [change] link) and finish with Enter; try again and cancel with Esc. Keyboard shortcuts must not fire while you're typing, and must work again in the 3D view afterwards.
6. Hover over links and icons in the panel: tooltips and the hand cursor should appear.
7. Scroll a long panel page with the mouse wheel and with the scrollbar.
8. Open a file and use Save As while docked. The dialogs should belong to the main window.
9. Go to full screen while docked. The panel should stay visible.
Remembering the layout
10. Quit with the panel docked left, docked right, and as a separate window, each with a changed width or position. Each time, the app should start in the same layout.
11. Dock, then switch back to Separate Window. It should return to where it was before docking.
Platform-specific
- Windows: press Alt with the focus in the 3D view and with the focus in the docked panel; both should open the menu bar. Also try a high-DPI display.
- macOS: please check the Separate Window case carefully; it couldn't be checked automatically. On a screen at least about 1150px wide, docking should give the panel about 420px. Check that the divider is easy to see and grab.
- Qt: dragging the panel's title bar to float or dock it should still work, and the View menu's radio mark should follow.
- Linux GTK3 / GTK4: the basics above.
I actually expect these to pass since I was able to test Windows on my Linux machine via Wine, and we were able to run an adhoc test on a github runner that took screenshots of the docked window on macOS. We still want this checked on real machines runing the native OSes.
Please report back any positive or negative results.
The other pull request isn't going in yet, there is less evidence that its clean and it could create incompatible files if it's not.
