Does solvespace do reference variables? (by Sophia)
Hi! I'm currently trying to migrate away from Fusion360, and I'm currently trying to figure out how (or even if) I can have SolveSpace reference a user-defined variable.

In Fusion360, I can define a variable by going into the Change Variables menu; I can then type in that variable's name when I'm defining a dimension. In Solidworks (which I haven't used in a while), it's a similar process. Freecad has a similar looking menu, but the only way I can actually *reference* a variable is by making a spreadsheet (?) and filling in cells (???) before giving out a reference to that spreadsheet *and* those cells (?????).

I've tried Control-F to look for pertinent keywords in the reference manual, and looked through some of the tutorials, but I can't even figure out if this feature exists in SolveSpace, let alone how to use it.

Short answer: No, this feature does not exist.

Longer answer: it is planned for version 3.4 and will be the only feature required for that version to be released. That was actually my plan for the upcoming v3.3 but that got hijacked when Claude popped in and started fixing the majority of our known NURBS bugs, which will be the focus of 3.3.

Timeframe: no idea, but its become a priority.
