step import/export (by doobs)
Hey folks,
Just stumbled across this. I like the simplicity and direct nature of it.
Are there any plans to have a functional step file (solids not wireframe) import and or export?
This is a significant omission and makes it almost useless in my use case.
thank you
chris

Step export is possible. Under File->Export Surfaces choose file type step. This is kind of a dumb name for it in the menu! Assemblies will actually export multiple solids in a Step file as of version 3.2
Step import isn't possible. Solvespace can only handle a fraction of the geometry that can be defined in a Step file.

Currently there's NeoSolve which takes a lot of the SolveSpace architecture and UX but adds fillets, chamfers, extrude along path, and import/export of .iges and .step files. It deviates from true SolveSpace by implementing some features from the opencascade kernel.
