We have been kicking this idea around for several months now. My most recent effort is in this PR:

It needs updated to better follow proper scope rules, and then update the text window a bit with the other suggestions. When complete that PR will implement step 1-4 of the larger plan here:

Ultimately I want to be able to link the same "metric_bolt.slvs" several times and have adjustable M and x parameters for each instance (in the parent sketch). But those per-instance parameters are likely years away. This is step 5-7 of the linked plan.
