why different functions on both platforms (Linux and Windows) (by why43)
Why do the Windows and Linux versions have different functions? For example, when you make all sides equal, on Windows it only makes the corners equal, not the sides. I understand that CAD software is difficult.

Constraints work the same on all versions. Can you be more specific?

Yes, if you want to make a triangle with all sides of equal length, you’ll see purple lines on them, which means they are all equal. But on Windows, you don’t get purple lines - instead, you get some angles. I don’t have Windows right now, and Wine doesn’t work correctly.

I'm guessing you are using an edge build on Linux versus an official release on Windows.

In the official 3.1 release, you can only apply an equality constraint on two lines at the same time. In the pre-release builds you can apply to more. So, it's not a matter of different behavior on different platforms, but due to new behavior that's not in the official release yet.

I just tried version 3.2 release candidate 1 from here:

https://github.com/solvespace/solvespace/releases/tag/v3.2-rc1

It works perfectly on Windows. Draw a triangle, select the 3 lines, press Q for eQual and you have an equilateral triangle.

I've also run a windows version of solvespace on Wine before and it worked fine.

Is there something unusual about your keyboard layout?

Oh, I got it. You're running version 3.1 on Windows and selecting all 3 lines before applying the equality constraint.

In the old version, the equal (Q) constraint applied to 3 lines A,B,C would create equal angles <AB and <BC. For 3.2 I wanted to be able to do 3 or more lines equal, so the equal angle constraint was moved to N.

On the old version you'll need to select lines A&B and apply an equal constraint, then select lines B&C and apply it again. Yes, this is annoying and allowing multiple constraints at once is probably the most useful feature of newer versions.

Go to that link above and get the 3.2RC1.
