Text Orientation (by Joe McDaniel)
I want to put text on the "bottom" of an object. There does not seem to be a way to control the orientation of text to reverse and flip it. I would assume that the direction of drawing the text box would control this, but no matter what direction I pick, I get the same orientation -- just different rotations.

Make a "sketch in new workplane" on the bottom.

Oddly, I exited and restarted loaded my object, and was able to add text without any problems It would still be nice too be able to reorient text boxes as necessary.

constrain text using construction lines (by cmpxchg)
You can just add green construction lines to 3 of more of the 4 corners/handles of the text object and thus size, center and orient text within the working plane.
