Export 2d View with Construction lines (by Marcus)
Is it possible to export a 2d view of a sketch, as a PDF or a DXF with its construction lines, without toggling them first into model lines. The 2d view export option contains the constraints but not the construction lines for both file types.

Thanks

Well, that was already prepared in the sourcecode so Jonathan must have had a good reason not to implement it already. Personally I have copied the constructionlines to another layer that I use for printing, because all construction lines are cluttering the output.
Here it is though, see attached. In the screenshot see that there is a now OPTIONS in the home screen in the Browser.
Last checkbox is about Exporting construction lines. It just disables the line that was disabling exporting of construction lines.
The Enable GUI revisioin RT2014 sets resolution of saved drawings. THe Enable copy constraints is the eMVe revision that to some extent allows inclusion of constraints when copying.
Use everything with crash precautions (=save often)

Merry christmas everyone

Thanks. Unfortunately I'm not a programmer so I guess I'll stick with what I've got.

another approach (by Eric S)
Another way to accomplish this is to great your own custom construction line type. that way then you can control (for the linestyle) whether they get exported with the "export these objects" checkbox.

additional tip (by Eric S)
sorry didn't make it all that clear.

you can create new line styles from the browser windows in the group view (top level).

below "show all/hide all", click "line styles"

and then "create a new custom style"

on that view, you would:

a custom name
a color for new lines stlye
set the checkbox for whether you want to export or not.

hope that helps

Did you actually try this? On my SS ver 2.0 construction lines are never exported. That's why I implemented export construction as an option.

Hi Rune,

Sorry - had been way laid on other "projects". Yes I did try it and thank you it did work.

Hi Eric S - Sorry I couldn't quite get your idea to work for me but thank you for giving me some ideas. I have a better idea on custom line styles, which I haven't used at all.
