Can't open, save or export files (by Ivan Burroughs)
Running solvespace from terminal I get:
Gtk-Message: 07:45:57.690: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
Gtk-Message: 07:45:57.691: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
SolveSpace!

connect failed: No such file or directory

If I try to open, save or export a file I get:
(solvespace:6127): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: 08:13:40.046: Error creating IO channel for /proc/self/mountinfo: Permission denied (g-file-error-quark, 2)

(solvespace:6127): Gtk-WARNING **: 08:13:40.096: Can't open portal file chooser: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.portal.Desktop was not provided by any .service files

Any Ideas?
Thanks

It looks like libcanberra is missing, look for it in your package manager and install if necessary.

How did you install SolveSpace? Linux executables aren't necessarily portable. I've only ever installed through the distribution's package manager, in which case you should get all the right dependencies too.

I meant look for llibcanberra package manager..( I have both Manjaro and Debian testing installs and did not run into any problems.) The package manager only installs explicit dependencies, and sometimes assumed libraries are not present in all distro installations, depending on desktop etc installed.

Can't open, save or export files - SOLVED (by Ivan Buroughs)
Thanks for the input.

Andrew, as best I could tell libcanberra is installed.

Tom, I installed using "Ubuntu Software" app. I removed solvespace and reinstalled using Synaptic package manager which solved the file I/O problem.

Haven't figured how to run from command line so don't know if libcanberra is working.
