I am interested to draw the profile of a gear, which is an involute of a circle.

There's no way to draw an involute. Your best option is to approximate it with a cubic spline, which should get very close. Possibly you could constrain arc length equal to line length and make a point constrained to move along your involute, then trace the point (analyze menu) as you hand-drag that point, and then fit the spline by eye.
