Limitations of SolveSpace (by Mattia)
Good morning.
I start using SolveSpace for a personal project, I found this software very easy to use and powerful, but sadly I discovered that it cannot handle an assembly with more parts: it become really slow (I'm using an Asus Rog, so it's not an hardware problem). By looking at the performance monitor I can see that it use only one processor, multithreading will be added in the future?
Moreover, if I have to assemble two parts with some bolt, for example, I need to manually load and position each bolt, because using "new group step and repeat" the bolts are added not as assembly, but as single part. So would be helpful to add a "pattern" function.
One more thing, I found really helpful if will be added an automatic BOM generation.
Are these changes planned for the future?

Thanks

About the BOM. Wouldn't that require each part in an assembly to have a part name stored in the file (or use the file name in the BOM). I don't recall anywhere to put a part name in SovleSpace. I think Step files also have a field for that which is either a default or unpopulated by SS.

@Mattia what version are you using? Version 3.0 will have some modest performance improvements over ver 2.3 but I haven't tried it with assemblies.

Also, not sure what you mean by "pattern function". What would that be like? Is there an equivalent in other CAD software?
