How to use cables or wires. (by Joe)
I'm trying to create a model of a mechanical device that employs the winding and unwinding of a thread/cable using a motor, in order to pull another piece, and I can't find any information regarding threads, wires or cables on solvespace, only a pulley example that is never rolled, so it doesn't help very much.

So I'd appreciate any confirmation regarding if this software permits to have a flexible wire that acts like a shoelace, that can be winded, or do I have to search for another alternative. Thank you very much.

In SolveSpace solid cables currently impossible.

But using some tricks it's possible create thread-like wires.

@Joe, could you attach some image that demonstrate needed result? Then I can give tell more on your task solving.

P.S.: Soon I will add simple example with wires.

Thanks for your help, I hope there's some trick that can be pulled of.

I have this ugly schematic: https://i.imgur.com/2M6Xcwr.png

And I also made a video of a cardboard prototype: https://youtu.be/C1-xLJjaz8I

Both cables would be attached to a single stepper motor with separated reels, so that when one winds the other unwinds, and vice versa.
