Make two cubic Bezier curves symmetric (by Kevin)
Hi, I'm a total newbie to SolveSpace, or any CAD. I am trying to draw a Coke bottle/teardrop like profile suspended from a basic inverted U shape. I attach a screen grab of where I'm at so far.

I sketched and extruded my U and in Sketch in New Workplane I created the curved shape by drawing a line (roughly horizontal) and at each end of the line I started a cubic Bezier curve, joining them together at the bottom.

I constrained each end of the top line to the U shape and centered it.

I thought I can just select both curves and constrain them to be symmetric, but get the error shown. I guess I'm doing something fundamentally wrong so any help would be great!

Okay so from just messing around on my lunch break, it looks like you need to select each point that are across from each other and constrain them as symmetric. Unfortunately the symmetry constraint doesn't apply to splines (which in the solver I believe is controlled differently than a line segment). Hope that helps! If you have more questions let me know.

Many thanks Daniel,

I'm home now (in Ireland) so I'll give that a go tomorrow and report back!

That did the trick Daniel!

Thank you and enjoy your lunch break today without disruptions :)

Screen grab attached,

An easier (and arguably better) alternative for all shapes that have axial symmetry:

Draw half the bottle and then "Step rotate" it around it's axis of symmetry. See here for an example https://github.com/solvespace/...ues/841#issuecomment-742117006

Thank you. I've completed the drawing for now, but will look into that for the next one.
