assembly = hell (by Ektor)
I'll end up burning everything if this continues.
I try to think as much as possible to reduce redundant constraints. But every time, there is a problem.

To reduce the breakage I have to check the option : "allow redundant constraints".

Even with all these difficulties, the assembly tool is much easier and more efficient than the a2plus workshop of freecad :D

If a kind soul could correct my example, I would be grateful.

If you leave show enabled in component files you will have an easier time constraining the assemblies. You can use show hide in the assembly to achieve the same ends, and turn it on and off as required.Also note, same orientation on normal's fixes the orientation of the part, while setting lines parallel allows for rotation. I have turned on show in all groups in 2,slvs, and have added an 0_modified to show the assembly without the added construction lines. It is constrained to allow rotation of the arms by grabbing a point on the first arm added. Warning fast movement can cause solver problems, just undo to get back to a solved state. See attached ZIP

All constraints are locked.
Without using the "allow redundant contraint" option

The mere fact that the axis cross is in the lower left and middle corner is confusing. So why does everyone behave differently? The one in the middle of the monitor behaves normally, while the one at the bottom left is a mystery to me.

The normals shown on the origin point for the drawing plane, while those in the lower left are the world normals, Compare them when you are drawing on a plane other than the XY plane, and you will that they differ, so that the ones at the drawing plane origin, orientate so red (X) and green (Y) always lie on the drawing plane and the blue, (Z )gives the drawing plane normal.

I read the bookmark: box-part.zip - TUTORIAL: ASSEMBLIES and I'm not very wise about it. I did not manage to realize the 4th picture from above. Normals - their use and navigation using them are still a mystery to me. They are described only very superficially everywhere.

For Andrew. Yes, I've figured it out. The remaining 2 normals (on the body) are not very visible! They merge with the body. Only when the body shrinks a lot, all 3 normals are clearly visible. I only saw the blue normal.
