Performance Tip (by Paul)
If Solvespace is getting sluggish on a larger model, you may find some benefit by turning off the Edges and Outline of the solid model. These are the 8th and 9th buttons on the toolbar at the top of the text window (outlines are off by default).

Playing with those options along with the group entity visibility checkboxes should make it clear that solvespace doesn't actually let you constrain things to the solid model, but only to 2D and 3D sketch entities, some of which are created automatically when you make an extrusion, revolve, or helix. The edges I suggest to turn off will not affect your ability to create sketches, just the visual appearance. You can turn Edges back on when you're all done and want it to look nice.

Thanks to @App4soft for mentioning this somewhere a while back. I finally tried it and it can help quite a bit.
