Struggling with unstable constraints (by Bruno Windels)
Hi,
I discovered SolveSpace yesterday and really like it so far. One thing I've noticed is that if there is more than one solution for a constraint, that the geometry of my sketch can sometimes flip to the other solution. One example is to have a segment go off another segment at 90 degrees (see screenshot on the right). I want the segment to go to the left, but here it flipped to the right.
On the left screenshot, I want the point on the line to be 3cm from the end of the segment. Adding a distance constraint, the point on line would sometimes flip to 3 cm above the end of the segment.
What's the best way to make my sketches more stable?

If you have a suitable line, then point-line distance constraints can't flip like point-point distance. It also helps to drag slower, and generally to draw as close as possible to the final constrained geometry (so the points don't have to move too much). If you get a flip, then you can try disabling constraints, dragging closer to the intended solution, and re-enabling.

A good fast yank of the mouse can often be used to flip it back to the right side. Sometimes control-Z is needed if thing get too messed up during dragging.

Thanks both! Will try out your suggestions.
