How to design a 6 sided bolt head? (by Michael)
Okay, maybe I've designed myself into a corner or I'm just not thinking through this clearly. I started by designing a bolt with a round head then tried to design and create an extrusion to eliminate parts to leave the hex sided bolt head...

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

You are better off drawing a hex and extruding that. My preferred method is 6 equal length lines with the end points constrained by a construction circle. This makes setting across flats sizes easy.

I woke up this morning, thinking about a similar method. Thank you for replying, I will endeavor to design a bolt head this way!
