assemblies: allow internal degrees of freedom to change? (by Jack)
Hello,

Is it possible to allow a part's internal degrees of freedom change when constraining in assemblies? Basically I'd like to make a part that can be any size, and have its size determined by how I assemble it.

Cheers,
Jack

There's no way to do that; imported parts in assemblies move as rigid bodies, with only those 6 DOF. You may be able to draw your geometry in the assembly file itself, though, since it's possible to mix and match imported solid models with new solid models created from sketches and extrudes in that same file.
