Open File Slow (by Parker)
I'm working on a bookcase that has a body and 7 shelfs. I've used the copy and paste transformed for the shelfs and now it's taking 8min to open the file. I dont fully understand groups ... is there a way to makes new group for each shelf ? in other CAD programs we called it a instance? That way the reslover figures the parant and updates the child.

Thanks

It looks like you have one massive group with everything? That will indeed get slow. Take a look at "step and repeat" groups, which will make the parametric copies that you want.

Most 3d work naturally forces you to split the model into groups, one per feature. It looks like your model is pure 2d here, but it's still a good idea to split into multiple groups (like with New Group -> Sketch In New Workplane, in a workplane that's coincident with the old one), for speed and to make the constraint structure clear.

Eight minutes is quite extreme though. Can you attach the file so that we would take a look?
