Mirroring / breaking up imported parts? (by Georg)
Hello,
I would like to model two parts with symmetry that later on will be used in another file as assembly, but independently from one another.
How can I make it so that they will be as independent parts and I still can propagate changes made to one also to the mirrored twin?
Do I have to keep a "master" file with the symmetry and after every change copy it to two files and delete in each the other one?
I've attached a simplified example.
For this argument let's say that in Assembly I want to e.g. join them at the top.
Also, I'm wondering how the extruded line from the origin came to exist?
Thanks a lot,
Georg

I'm not sure I totally understand, but you can assemble mirrored by setting a negative scale. Can you just draw the part once, and assemble it twice, once with scale +1 and once with -1?

Thank you!
That was exactly what I was missing :-)

I tried with scale -1 but Arcs do not mirror.
Am I missing something? Thanks

The issue with arcs not being mirrored is fixed in the master branch of solvespce.
