Can't delete point on curve, only whole thing (by expertmm)
In 2.2~c4ad073d, point on curve can't be deleted without deleting whole curve (problematic especially since ending the curve with right-click creates a new point whereas in many other CAD programs, right-click exits a tool).
Moving or creating a point deselects it, hindering snapping feature (by expertmm)
After a point is created or moved (such as an endpoint of an arc), the point is deselected in either case, making the use of '.' key as an extra step for snapping require yet another step of manually selecting the point.

You can delete a point on curve. Right-click on the point and select thez "Remove Spline Point" command.
As for the deselection, having points remain selected for long would also hinder workflow, since constraints generally require the exact (required and sufficient) set of selected entities, and I don't see changing this as a clear improvement in usability. In any case, the snap command
